What movement?

What movement?

The movement that started hundreds of years ago.

The movement that we are all a part of.

The movement where we march through our streets and walk out of school.

The movement where we look up to our leaders from the Selma to Montgomery march, from Freedom Summer, from the Children’s Crusade.

The movement that continues because the lives of innocent black people continue to disappear.

The movement that continues because we want-NO, because we need change.

The movement that means so much to us that, no matter how long it takes, no matter how hard we have to try, change will come.

Change will meet us. But if it won’t meet us, we will meet change.

If it won’t come to us, we will go to it.

We will march, and we will march. We will sing. We’ll sing until change has come and decided to stay.
