It’s hard to only see your family

Nicholas Auckenthaler, Staff Writer

It’s weird to think that what we’re living through right now will undoubtedly be taught about in school in the future. No one alive has ever lived through anything like this and it’s hard to say if something like this will happen again in our lifetime. I don’t think any of us, when we were predicting how the 2019-2020 school year was going to go, could have envisioned this. I also don’t think that anyone is preferring this quarantine over school. Basically everyone I’ve talked to has said that they would rather be at school in a regular class setting than just at home. That’s the main issue really. Just having to be in the house constantly around your family, constantly without being able to socialize with people you choose to be around. It’s like The Shining. I’m getting cabin fever having to be in the same house as my family non-stop. They’ve been trying to keep it fun by having family dinners where we watch movies, but most of the time I just want to eat in my room. I’ve mainly been keeping myself occupied by eating and going on my phone. There’s only so much social media you can take in during one day and still be able to be sane. I’ve also started reading a book. Usually, I don’t read for fun, but it’s not looking like I have a whole lot else to do so I’m just gonna have to enjoy it.
