1. Mick Hamilton – This science teacher is the father of two children and has travelled through 120 miles of Northern Alaska as a part of an Arctic expedition with the University of Minnesota.
2. Elliott Hanson – This social studies teacher loves “The Godfather Part II”. He has tried to learn Spanish several times, but can’t quite get the hang of it.
3. Amy Kafkas – She teaches French, and loves watching James Bond movies and cat videos on Youtube.
4. Sabrina Kim – This ELL social studies teacher is a world traveller who has lived in four foreign countries. She attended the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
5. Dahir Hassan – This new language teacher knows English, Somali, German, Italian, and Arabic. He has five children and loves the movie “Garfield”.
6. Susan Peterson – This science teacher is the mother of a South student, and has run three Twin Cities marathons in her life.
7. Erick Taggart – This social studies teacher not only makes his own cheese, but also writes and edits comic books.
8. Mary Manor – This English teacher is already familiar with South, having been a student teacher here last year. She’s lived in Detroit, California, and London.
9. Elizabeth Hanson – She may share a name with a new social studies teacher, but this English teacher is very unique. She used to teach at Edison and loves “Shaun of the Dead”.
10. Erin Brown – She is the newest addition to the fines arts department and has traveled through Indonesia, China, and Thailand.
11. Jennifer Hill – This math teacher loves Harry Potter and she has two tattoos.
12. Dan Oliver – She may have studied veterinary medicine in college, but this Lino Lakes native now teaches math at South.
