Girls’ basketball team’s last minute win means a possible City Champ title

After a last-minute shot on Monday’s game by Morgan Hill, the South girls varsity basketball team came to victory by one point, the final score being 57-56. South’s win broke Washburn’s 32 game winning streak.

South’s success is due to hard work coming from the team, who are practicing constantly. Some of the seniors are very excited after this win. Anjalee Jones and Lisetta Horn, both seniors on the team, said the stands in the stadium are the fullest they’ve been since legendary player Tayler Hill played at South.

Their next home game will be this Friday against Southwest. If South beats Southwest on Friday, January 30th and Southwest beats Washburn, they have a chance at becoming City Champs.
