This year the South High Ultimate Frisbee team went to Canada over the weekend and came home having won third place. However, they also came back with multiple injuries, including junior Mary Thomas who broke her foot by re-injuring a stress fracture from cross-country running.
Six girls and nine boys went on the trip, and because of the injuries they had less substitutes and the plays were more tiring, according to senior and captain John Manthei.
Despite the injuries, Manthei said that they had a huge improvement from last year, and they reached their goal of defeating Canada. However their other goal, to defeat Hopkins, was not achieved.
The team stayed with a host family that made good food and treated them well, according to senior Gretta Regan.
