Don’t take the little things for granted anymore

Hayley Morgan, Staff Writer

Throughout the past few weeks, our lives have experienced so much change. It’s crazy to even think that three weeks ago we were all going about our normal lives. As of right now, we have no idea how long this all will last or when we’ll be able to go back to our lives, but the time we’ve spent quarantined has impacted me greatly.

I’ve lost many things since the virus came up, so much of life has been postponed or canceled. Trips I was looking forward to, sports seasons, just spending time with friends and even school are all things we no longer get to do. It’s been really hard, but hopefully soon we can go back to our lives.

My time in quarantine has consisted of a lot of things. Lot’s of late nights, getting outside for exercise, and most of all just spending extra time with my family. If any positives have been brought up through all of this, I get to spend a lot more time with my family.

While quarantine hasn’t impacted me as much as others, it’s scary to think that so many lives are currently at risk. While I may not be in as much danger, the fact that this situation is life or death for many people is hard to process and also the fact that this is a worldwide issue.

Most importantly, I have had a lot of time for self-reflection and have learned a lot of lessons. This time has taught me to not take the little things for granted and that just being able to go about normal life is something we are lucky to have. Also, I have learned how all of our actions affect each other. Especially during times like this, everything we do has an effect on others. We have to think more about others in times like this, which is a lesson we can all learn.
